We’ve learned that it’s important to encourage the students to be on camera during class. This helps the instructors engage with their students and ensure they’re participating in our weekly
online coding for kid classes. It's also important for the parents to ensure they have set up their child’s computer station and have installed the necessary software ahead of the class. These details ensure the class runs smoothly and your children get the most out of their lesson.
The most important thing that we’ve learned is that having instructors teaching in a virtual environment has significantly cut down on staff turnover. We are now witnessing professional programmers continuing to teach on a part-time basis even while they have full-time careers in the game programming industry. One particular instructor (Gabe D.) is a professional Unreal Engine programmer in the electric car industry. He still eagerly continues to teach for RP4K on a part-time basis. This means the students can be exposed to real programming professionals!
