What is an RP4K Game Jam?

An RP4K Game Jam is a two-day online event where students take part in a fast-paced, hands-on coding challenge for kids. The mission is to create a complete game from scratch, based on a surprise theme revealed at the start.

Participants work independently or collaborate in small teams, with just enough instructor support to guide (but not solve) challenges. It’s a real-world experience designed to stretch creativity, sharpen coding instincts, and fuel confidence, all while building something you’re excited to share.

And because it’s an online game jam, you can participate from wherever you are, just bring your ideas, your coding skills, and your creativity.

Whether you’re new to coding challenges for kids or experienced in game development for kids, the jams are designed to challenge your creativity, boost your coding skills, and connect you with other young developers.

No advanced skills required! The RP4K Game Jam welcomes all levels. As long as you’ve started learning game coding through our courses, you’re ready. These online coding challenges are about experimenting, problem-solving, and building confidence, not about being perfect.

You will need a computer, a stable internet connection, and access to your RP4K coding platform. Because it’s an online game jam, you can participate from anywhere! Just bring your creativity, coding skills, and excitement for a fast-paced, creative coding for kids experience.
