Alexandre Strain

Assistant Director of Operations/Education

Alexandre Strain has been an instructor at RP4K since November 2019 and has taught all levels of our courses. He is a University of Toronto graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Communication, Culture, Information & Technology (CCIT). Alexandre also received a Digital Communication Certificate from Sheridan College through a joint program with Sheridan and the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus. The combination of both majors and certificate has allowed him to experience many sides to game development, from animation and video production to programming applications and software design.

Alexandre started his working career in the hospitality industry where he communicated and managed interactions between kitchen and serving staff in the delivery/preparation process of food. Training his support staff coworkers on the job also gave him the ability to teach youth in a productive and engaging environment. He believes the best way to learn is to get feedback on the code you create or on work that you do, and game programming is the best at getting that sense of accomplishment.

Alexandre revised in the current iteration of our Unity Course, spending most of his after work hours developing his own game using the same software.

In February 2022, Alexandre has been promoted to assistant director of operations/education.
